New York, NY Marriage & Family Counselor
Mental Health Help Line
Personal Statement
For 35 years, as Clinical Director of the Mental Health Help Line and as an individual, couple, marital, family, and group therapist, I have seen over several thousand clients for short and long term counseling and therapy, using a wide diversity of modalities and techniques, such as psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic and psychoanalytic ones.

My style is an interactive, reflective and empathic one, which I find helps develop a collaborative relationship. This way the client can feel understood and known and more readily work with issues that brought him/her into therapy. If we make our therapy fit our clients, rather than have our patients fit our particular form of therapy, then, while we may at times feel uncomfortable, our patients on the other hand will feel more comfortable and growth and healing will more readily occur.
