As a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1990, I counsel children, adults, couples and families in my private practice in Colorado Springs. Hypnosis is a tool I use frequently to promote calmness and behavioral changes in a variety of situations including pre-surgical anxiety, childbirth, smoking cessation, and weight loss. My approach to counseling is "to do what works" and what works for one client may not work for the next. My counseling tends to focus on the present and future as opposed to the past and focuses on finding solutions, brainstorming strategies and trying on new behaviors to help clients make the changes they desire. Of course, sometimes we have to explore the past to get to where we want to be, but we don't have to stay in the past.
We all face challenges as individuals, families, partners, parents, grown children, siblings, and children. I bring my life experience, my clinical experience, and most of all, my presence -- who I am as a person -- to be there for my clients at each session. I'd like to be present for YOU.
