Richard Drobnick, LCSW, DCSW (pictured left with Dr. John Gray, author of the world renowned classic Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus) is the Director of the first Mars & Venus Counseling Center in Bergen County and Northern New Jersey. He has been serving Bergen County as a practicing counselor/psychotherapist for more than 28 years. Mr. Drobnick formerly held the position of staff psychotherapist at the Hackensack University Medical Center from 1979 to 1982. He has been in private practice since 1982 with main offices located in Teaneck, New Jersey. Richard has focused his work exclusively with adults in individual, group, and couples counseling. In addition to his experience as a clinician, he has served for several years as Senior Staff Instructor at the former postgraduate training center, Gestalt Unlimited. Mr. Drobnick is also well known as a lecturer, seminar leader, consultant, and peer supervisor.
Mr. Drobnick has studied and integrated the theories and practice methods of many leaders in the fields of individual and couples counseling. Although Mr. Drobnick continues to specialize in individual and group psychotherapy, more and more of his attention over recent years has focused on couples counseling. Richard is one of a select few professionals nationwide personally trained and licensed by Dr. John Gray. This superb training has made his work with couples especially rewarding and effective.

At the Mars & Venus Counseling Center, we use the book Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus as the basic premise and guidance for couples work. Dr. John Gray has developed a complete clinical approach to couples counseling that integrates all of his ideas. This is the systematic approach used here, as taught and licensed by Dr. John Gray. You will learn how to understand, respect, and honor the differences between yourself and your partner. You will learn what your needs are, as well as your partner's, and how to meet them.
