My work emphasizes a systems approach. We function within the systems around us and are influenced by them; family, work, school, and health for example. I focus on cognitive behavioral techniques helping you with insights on how your thoughts are influencing your emotions and environment. I allow you the setting you need to process through sometimes painful situations and emotions. Mind and body techniques are often integrated for stress reduction such as relaxation techniques, guided imagery, hypnosis and biofeedback. At times, I look at how potential health matters may be affecting you emotionally.
I have worked in in-patient, out-patient and a private practice setting for 18 plus years.
The scope of my practice includes and is not limited to; goal management, stress reduction, anger management, addictions, communication, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, manic depression, attention deficit disorder, weight loss, pain management, health habits, self-esteem and co-dependency.
Shelley works with individuals, couples and families including children and adolescents. “My approach is proactive helping you to find solutions that you can choose to work on outside of our sessions. My goal is to help you reach relief and feel a sense of success through the process.”
