About Couples Counseling: When a relationship is not feeling supportive and connected, that couple may get much help from couples therapy. Both spouses want to feel understood and that their needs will be met and respected. Both want a happy and loving environment that they come home to at the end of the day. When there is too much alienation or conflict, it is time to see a therapist for couples counseling. Counseling will help improve empathy and understanding. It will help each individual talk to the other, and will help the other listen to what is being said. Counseling can help the couple more beyond a pattern of conflict and back towards love.
About Therapy for Individuals: The process of therapy is intimate and emotional. Having a good fit with your therapist is essential. One of the best ways to know if you have a good fit, is to sit with the therapist in a session and find out for yourself if you feel understood and helped.
I help others to find satisfying solutions to life's sometimes difficult problems. I do this through asking the right questions, offering support and understanding when faced with painful or difficult situations, and encouraging new directions and approaches.
There are certain skills that I bring that increase the effectiveness of therapy. These include empathy and respect for those with whom I work, a developing understanding of what the other is struggling with and working through, and a sense of humor to help bring perspective and warmth.
