MY THERAPY STYLE -- I am a positive person by nature, so my style is to be hopeful and encouraging, while being realistic, practical and fair. I listen well and encourage my clients to speak about what they know, what they feel and what they want. In addition, I draw upon my own wide-range of knowledge and experience as I contribute to our conversation.
TIME LINE: Many issues can be resolved in 5 to 10 sessions, but some long-standing issues need more time for change to take place. I recognize that most people lead busy lives and the sooner they can create change, the better. With this in mind, I use methods that get right to the heart of the matter, for quicker results.
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY: I believe that everyone is full of untapped resources, and I encourage my clients to discover and develop the inner parts of themselves that are needed for change to occur. I help both male and female clients get relief from their anxiety and depression, resolve a current problem, feel supported during a difficult time in their life, become more self-aware so they can make decisions that serve them better, heal from their past, or develop some new parts of themselves for personal growth and wholeness.
COUPLES THERAPY: For couples who want to sort through some of their issues so their relationship can work better. Whether it’s a new or long-term relationship, pre-marital, married, life-partners or just dating, I work to understand the dynamics well enough to describe back to the couple what I'm seeing them do. I help each individual know themselves better and grow in ways that are needed for the relationship to be able to improve. I help couples talk and learn to really listen to each other, and I suggest and teach new ways of relating so they can get more of what they are wanting.
