I believe that healthy relationships are essential to our happiness and success in life. Relationships enrich our lives and bring us great joy, but sometimes being in a relationship can also be difficult. Most of us don't realize that relationships are hard work. We are socialized to believe we will find our "soul mate" and then we can sit back and do nothing and live happily ever after. This is just not the case! We all need an education in how to have great relationships, just as we get educated in every other area of our lives. Couples counseling provides these vital teachings.
