Although I am trained and have experience in dealing with a wide range of problems facing couples and families, my specific areas of clinical speciality include:
1. Dealing with divorce and remarriage
2. Decreasing marital conflict
3. Increasing intimacy and trust
4. Working with children and adolescents (especially behavioral problems)
5. Increasing positive family interaction
6. Couples experiencing infertility
Besides doing therapy, I am an Assistant Professor of Counseling and Family Therapy (CFT) at Saint Louis University, one of the premier Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) training programs in Saint Louis. As a result, I am actively involved in training effective therapists. I am also one of the few clinicians in Saint Louis with a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from a COAMFTE-Accredited program -- the highest level of accreditation in the nation. This qualification helps ensure that I have received the advanced specialized training needed to provide couples and family therapy. I currently have a few openings in my private practice.
Finally, I was recently awarded a National Award from the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapist (AAMFT) for my research with remarried couples and have written several articles on couple dynamics and how therapists can help them improve their marital satisfaction.
