I have been providing individual and couples therapy for over 30 years and hold Masters Degrees in both Psychology and Clinical Social Work. I've worked in multiple mental health settings and was the Senior Social Worker of Adult Long-Term Inpatient Services for Sheppard-Pratt Hospital. In this capacity supervised the social workers on 7 other units. I entered full-time private practice in 1992.
I have a passion for my work that is manifested in several professional publications including a book entitled "Treating Borderline States in Marriage" that can be viewed on Amazon.com. I'm also considered a good teacher and speaker and provide continuing education workshops to marriage and family therapists across the United States and Canada. I also enjoy working with individuals.
I bring my capacity to teach to the treatment setting within which I'll often educate clients to various ways of thinking about things that enhance their own capacity to think through the difficulties they are encountering. My clients often comment on how much they appreciate this aspect of my work with them and on how surprised they are by the amount of laughing that can go on within a session and how relaxed they feel talking about their troubles. They also appreciate that I challenge them to not only "talk the talk" of therapy but to "walk the walk" of real change.
The honor I'm most proud of is being named the Clinical Social Worker of the Year by the Maryland Society of Clinical Social Workers in 1994. Please feel free to call or email with any questions you may have about mental healthd, relationship or insurance issues even if they don't pertain to my practice.

My office is on the grounds of Sheppard-Pratt Hospital next to GBMC on N. Charles Street in Towson. Once you enter the grounds from Charles St, stay on that windy road until you come to a stop sign. Go directly through that intersection then take your next left on Friends Lane. The large brick building now in front of you is the Gibson Building. Enter the building and take the elevator to the second floor. Exit to your right and follow the meandering hallway all the way around to the very last door, office 239. If the door is closed please take a seat and I'll be out shortly. |
