As a psychotherapist, I have experience helping people gain relief from painful emotional symptoms and improve personal relationships, become more productive at work, and take greater pleasure from life. I believe it is important to have a safe and private environment to talk things over and feel understood as a unique individual, in order to change lifelong ways of coping that haven't been working. I help in understanding feelings and behaviors that don't make sense and to prevent the past from interfering in the present. Gaining greater control over your life helps stop self-destructive patterns of behavior.
After a few initial meetings, I make recommendations about treatment options, and we discuss the most useful way to proceed. You may wish to focus on gaining insight into impediments and inhibitions that have interfered with reaching life goals, or we may decide to work toward practical solutions to problems.

Directions to Office
I have two offices, one in Bethesda, Maryland, and a second in McLean, VA. The directions to my Bethesda office follow. Please call or email for directions to the Mclean office.
From 495 going toward VIRGINIA;
* Take the River Road exit toward Potomac and turn Left onto River Road.
* Turn Left at the first stoplight which is Seven Locks Road.
* Proceed 1/2 mile to its end on MacArthur Blvd and turn Right.
* Proceed 3-4 blocks to Persimmon Tree Road and turn Right.
* Proceed 1/2 mile up the hill to Tomlinson Ave. and turn Right.
* From there make your second right turn onto Buxton Terrace. 7021 is the first driveway on the left.
From Washington, DC:
* Follow River Road out toward Potomac and turn Left at Seven Locks Road which is the first stoplight after the entrance to the Beltway.
* Proceed as above
Or:
* Take MacArthur Blvd toward Great Falls, Maryland, cross the one-lane bridge in Cabin John, then turn Right on Persimmon Tree Road.
* Proceed as above.
From 495 in Virginia:
* Stay in the far right lane before you come to the American Legion
Bridge.
* Take the Cabin John Exit which is the first exit on the Maryland side.
* Take the right fork of the exit, toward Glen Echo. You will be on the Cabin John/Clara Barton Parkway.
* In about 1 mile, take the 2nd exit which is Cabin John.
* Turn Left, crossing over the parkway, then Left again at the Stop Sign, onto MacArthur Blvd.
* You will heading away from DC and toward Great Falls.. Proceed as
above.
