Memorial Day weekend is traditionally when pools reopen in the United States. The beginning of pool season is a good time for families and parents to review pool safety and use some tips. Nearly 300,000 public pools will open across the United States this weekend.

While pools can be a great source of fun and exercise for kids and families, they are also the cause of nearly 300 deaths of young kids every year. Most of these involve children less than 2 years of age.
